Doodletopia Cartoons by Christopher Hart is a how-to book geared to help you draw, design, and color your own super-fun cartoon creations. This cartoon how-to book is very stylized and has specific guides and detailed instructions how to draw the example cartoons. While I believe the book may appeal to both genders – the book is more appropriate for older teens due to the nature of some of the cartoons.
Hart does include a section on cartoon calligraphy, but it does not seem full fleshed out as it only includes the font’s name in the cartoon style he is displaying. Perhaps, he wants the reader to design their own cartoon calligraphy, but he does not give instructions how to do so. Nonetheless, I believe there are many teens that would enjoy this book and it is bound to bring out their creativity- which is always a great thing to do.
I received this book from Blogging for Books at no cost for this review. Dee Brower
